The Dead Flag Blues

Sat Oct 24, 2009, 12:59 PM
  • Mood: Miserable
The car's on fire, and there's no driver at the wheel.
And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides,
and a dark wind blows.

The government is corrupt,
and we're on so many drugs with the radio on
and the curtains drawn.

We are trapped in the belly of this horrible machine,
and the machine is bleeding to death.

The sun has fallen down
and the billboards are all leering
and the flags are all dead
at the top of their poles.

It went like this:

The buildings toppled in on themselves,
mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble
and pulled out their hair.

The skyline was beautiful on fire,
all twisted metal stretching upwards,
everything washed in a thin orange haze.

I said "Kiss me; you're beautiful.
These are truly the last days."
You grabbed my hand, and we fell into it.
Like a daydream,
or a fever.

Howdy.
How are things going?

Things are going all right. College has kept me busy, but I'm making new friends and I'm managing my workload, staying sane.

How about you?

That's good.
Staying busy helps.

Oh, I'm proud of myself though. I managed to get Joel's autograph. XD

Yay! Get it framed, or laminated or something. Depends on what you got autographed. I don't get girls that get their hand or cleavage autographed; you can't preserve that. So far my crowning achievement is shaking Lee Atlus' hand. I wish I could have gotten him to sign something.

It was a copy of Hell on Earth that I bought there. Then a few weeks back I Emailed him the fanart I did, so I thanked him for taking a look. He couldn't hear me too well over the noise, so he had to bend down so I could tell him in his ear.
Then I ran away. :XD: Making progress though. Actually said stuff this time. Personal triumph. LOL

Yeah, I don't understand the body signing either-unless you're going to run off and get it tattooed.

And that's cool you got to shake his hand. I usually hang onto my ticket stubs, because if nothing else, they could sign that.

Just stopping by to see how things are going with you.

"Oh, sweet Cristabol, share with me your poem. For I know now I'm a puppet on this silent stage show, I'm but a poet who failed his best play. A dead boy who failed to write an ending to each of his poems. "--Nightwish
:iconreginastarfire:
Pretty good, but missing hanging out with you. I've been forgetting to get on AIM and chill. How have you been, Lunore?

Ooh nice :D

I wanted to go to the Mayhem tour to see Slayer and bottle most of the other bands, but I forgot when it was and found out too late.

Joel must like my city or something. This is the third time he's been out here in less than a year.
I'm gonna see if I can work up the nerve to get some autographs this time. Not bold enough to go talk to him when he goes and hangs out at the venue's bar though.

LOL, one of the people from work asked me if I went to the mayhem tour and I thought they were talking about the BAND Mayhem.

Slayer's a band you can expect to come back around sometime. Hopefully on their OWN tour. XD
